Bel Tam

Yurt Camp

Located just at the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake the "Bel Tam Seaside" yurt camp is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery of the isolated, quiet area. Fiery red mountains are visible to the south and the beach starts behind the yurts. The cristal clear water invites visitors to take a refreshing swim to cool off in summer.

All the yurts can be equipped with an oven to keep you warm at night, and there are hot showers and modern sit down toilets on site. Meet other travelers and exchange stories in the big yurt or at the firepit near the shore. Or vistors can simply enjoy the view, including a spectacular sunrise over the water of the lake! The staff is also happy to organize daytime events at the camp upon request, such as eagle hunting, folklore shows and horseback riding.

Green Yurt Camp

This yurt camp is operated by shepherds in a typical Kygyz pasture between tree covered mountains and hills. Here the shepherds only set up their yurts in the summer months so that their animals can fatten up on the beautiful green grass which grows in the area.  Omurbek and his family keep several yurts and welcome visitors to their home and serve traditional Kyrgyz cuisine. They also keep horses, several which are available for horseback tours in this very scenic area, including an uphill ride that leads to a panoramic view of Issyk-Kul Lake and the surrounding mountians. The yurt camp serves  as a starting point for a trek to the Sacred Mountains (Tashtarata) as well.
